"Created by". After the success of Toby Whithouse, Hagai Levi with In Treatment
After the success received by Toby Whithouse, the second important meeting with “Created by - The TV of Ideas, the TV of screenwriters”, theagreement signed by the RomaFictionFest with the screenwriters’ association S.A.C.T. (Scrittori Associati di Cinema e Televisione). The star of the second encounter – a few days before the start of the RomaFictionFest – will be Hagai Levi, the Israeli screenwriter, creator and writer of the series Be’Tipul, as well as the US version, In Treatment, a series that will soon be adapted for Italian television. The encounter with the author will be preceded by the screening of an episode of Be’Tipul, which Levi himself has chosen.
Italian screenwriters will have the unique opportunity to exchange ideas with other “creators”, as authors are defined in the English speaking world. The encounters aim to stimulate debate at the international level, to bring new ideas and allow Italian writers to become familiar with subjects, creative processes and models that suit the Italian public but which are at the same time appropriate for foreign markets.
Hagai Levi, the writer, director, editor and critic, is well known by the international public for having created, directed and produced the series BeTipul, which is considered the most important dramatic series ever produced in Israel, which has won Israeli Academy Awards. The series became a television and social phenomenon, acclaimed by critics al lover the world for the refined and pungent dialogue. Hagai Levi participated as executive producer in In Treatment, the US version of BeTipul, produced by HBO and starring Gabriel Byrne the winner of the Golden Globe 2009 for Best Actor in a drama series.
